NEXT GIG

No gigs for a few weeks as we take a breather and have some holidays. A couple of gigs in July and then loads in August. See you soon. Keep coming up with name suggestions. The latest one is Blue's Box. Plus we've had Weld, Melt, House of Blues (Hmmm) and Breakneck Speed.

We're booked to play the main stage at the Stockton Fringe Festival on Sunday 2nd August see this link. We also play the Darlington Blues Festival at the Quaker House on Sunday 20th September at 3ish.

Expect to part with some cash at gigs as we are flogging an album of tunes. Don't worry, we only play two at gigs but they're belters. Also, after considering a name change so many people have said 'no, why bother' we erm, might not bother. Anyhow, we found out (even though we checked on Google) there are a couple of other bands doing the rounds with the name we were going to use. CAN YOU THINK OF ONE? For the winner we come and play a gig in your front room! How about that?

DVD - That little 'ole band from the banks of the steel river, coming down your way and playing a little rock, blues and funky soul.

DVD are supported by Two Tribes Music - vintage guitars, amps and cabs including voodoo amp modifications. Please visit their site at www.twotribesmusic.co.uk and buy something! Mention DVD when you part with your hard earned cash. Paul also sells strings, leads and all sorts of stuff that you need if you play, so please go visit and say hello.

We appear on a CD called 'Keeping the blues alive' just released by those kind folk at Darlington Blues Club. We rub shoulder alongside Taste, Stan Webb and Papa George. After looking at the lineup you realise what a s*** name we have. Just doesn't look right. So...

WODGERFINK? We're thinking about changing the band name next year because, erm, people say its crap. "Nice band - crap name mate" Our shortlist so far, is the following:

Crossfire - GAH! Two other north east bands use this.
Stonesoldier - bit too serious if you ask me
Redbeach - a bit Americana?
Blues & Gasoline - too bluesy for when we play biker joints?
Bluesrock 3 - Cos that's what we play and there's three of us
The Unpaid - This is an in joke with the band at the mo.

Other suggestions from folk who come to watch us

The Moving Candles
No Boundaries
Long, short and curly

Keep them coming!

Because we're a load of tightwads we won't change over until all of the posters are used up and our band webspace name comes up for renewal so expect this to be a 2009 project. Maybe.

If you want to create a name for us go here I just found Skunk Gravel & The Fidelity it'll keep you amused for some time. Send an email with your vote.
